Dubai Scholars Court of Appeal operates as a platform for the students of Dubai Scholars to voice their opinions on on-going events and praxes of their cherished school.
The Agenda: to discuss whether Formative Assessments or Scheduled Tests were beneficial for students.
The air had tonnes of tension ringing through it, as the judge Mir Mubasher was declared. Both the Prosecution (Muhammad Toofail and Kushi Balla) and the Defense (Aaliyah Vaz and Aamir Renzy) had their evidence speeches prepped; as the prosecution began their introductory speeches.
After a factual listing of statements supporting the Prosecution, the Defense went on to propose their side of the debate.
The court later transitioned into each team supporting their side of the argument with lengthy lists of evidences, each analyzing different viewpoints and perspectives of the students and teachers, as well as, using statistics and studies to prove their points.

The Prosecution spoke of preparing students for the Pearson Edexel IGCSE Board exams, scheduled tests would also make students more comfortable with the pattern and time availability of these tedious exam therefore students will be capable of scoring higher marks due to having a greater amount of time to prepare and providing a structured approach towards examinations.
The Prosecution also chose to call upon a witness: Chirag Tahilani. The witness gave his viewpoint on as to why Scheduled tests were better, than dabbled into mental stressing preparation for future Board examinations. The Defense responded by presenting evidence of a survey that showed Scheduled tests provided more stress to students than simple FA's. |

The Defense's side of the argument considered of: schools creating 'exam factories', forcing students to memorize paragraphs, FA's testing students' understanding on the topic, understanding also allows students to apply these concepts while problem solving (according to George Polygamist's, who stated the first step to solve a problem, is to understand it) Fa's catering to different learning styles, through strategic classroom quizzes , round robin charts and practical experiments, students being under less physical and mental stress and FA's benefitting teachers, as they provide on-going feedback on the class' understanding.
The court then moved on to the questioning of the Prosecution and Defense. Each side was put through a stressful session, which required their members to use their wits and think quickly on their feet. After a round of compelling questions and equally satisfactory answers. The court moved on to the concluding step: the verdict. After a private discussion and voting by the jury. The judge and the jury members returned an unanimous verdict of the Defense winning the case. Feedback and compliments were passed around as the tense mood disparated into a light-hearted one, for another DSCA session was an indisputable success.
